Advent Lutheran Church

Welcome to Advent Lutheran Church

Advent Lutheran Church is a caring, spiritual community of faith that strives to share the love of Jesus Christ in all that we do. Our doors are open to people of all ages, faiths, ethnic backgrounds, and economic conditions. We welcome all who want to learn more about the amazing love and grace of God made known to us in Jesus Christ.

Our new worship schedule started June 14th with wonderful reviews from Advent disciples and many of our guests. The new schedule: 8:00 a.m. Traditional Worship, 9:30 a.m. New Worship / Sunday School, and 10:45 a.m. Traditional Worship / Sunday School. The new 9:30 a.m. service features newer Contemporary Christian Music in a liturgical format including weekly confession, prayer, children's message, scripture, sermon, creed, prayers, Holy Communion, benediction and sending. The 8:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services have not changed (other than 10:30 moving to 10:45), including having the Advent Lutheran Band (ALB) provide music on the first Sunday of each month. Joanna Corbett continues to provide traditional organ music on all of the other Sundays. Come and see what God is doing at Advent as we share the good news!

Sunday, May 15th 8:00, 9:30 & 10:45 a.m.

Following his resurrection, Jesus promised the disciples that he would send them the Holy Spirit. On Pentecost the promise was fulfilled as the Holy Spirit appeared as tongues of fire above their heads. They were so filled with the Spirit that they began to preach to anyone who would listen in various languages they had never spoken before. They were so enthused and “on fire” they were accused of being drunk! We remember this special event and celebrate Pentecost with Festive Worship on Sunday, May 15th at 8:00, 9:30 and 10:45a.m. Our 10:45 a.m. worship will include the Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) for 6 of our Advent young adults followed by a reception in their honor. Invite family, neighbors and friends and join us for worship on this most holy day.

In Christ's love, Pastor Jerry

First Time Guest?

Welcome! We greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and extend a warm Advent welcome to all guests and friends as we gather for worship. We invite you to join us in all parts of worship.

Special Needs

Please speak with the ushers if you have any special needs. Holy Communion will be shared with you in the pew upon request if you are unable to go to the altar area. Also, large print worship bulletins are available upon request from the ushers.

Children & Nursery

A fully equipped and professionally staffed nursery is available from 9am-12pm for children newborn through three years old in the education wing down the hallway in the back left area of the Sanctuary. We rejoice at having children in worship, and we know that they are normally active. Special “busy bags” with quiet toys for children are available as you enter.

Holy Communion

All who come expecting that the Lord Jesus will make himself known in the breaking of the bread and the sharing of the cup are welcome to the Lord's Table. Children who do not yet commune are invited forward to receive a blessing. Gluten-free wafers are available.
